Artistic Flair

Watching a friend getting married is always a very exciting and emotional time. Having studied fashion and currently working in the film industry in the costume department, Shereen draws using pencil, Gauche watercolour, black ink, pastel and charcoal on surfaces of canvas paper, watercolour paper, fabrics or anything that takes your fancy. All Shereen will need from you is a few relevant photographs of the subject, what medium you want the illustration done in, and whether you'd like a side, back or front view. The Princess & the Frog

I think it's fair to say that most girls, girls of any age, love the traditional Disney fairytales. I have no doubt it's from where my love of ball gowns, princes and finding my 'happily ever after' spawned. I grew up on The Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty, always hoping that I could have a dress that, like Sleeping Beauty, would change from pink to blue as I was whisked around by my Prince Charming. As I've grown older my ideals have changed somewhat, however my love of a good Disney fairytale hasn't. This being the case my girlfriends and I decided to go and see Disney's latest traditional fairytale, The Princess & the Frog. Such an adorable, gorgeous film. Set in New Orleans, it's the story of a Prince, Prince Naveen, who's turned into a frog and must, to turn back into a human, kiss a princess. The old school, hand drawn animations are, I think, what makes the traditional Disney fairytales so beautiful. It's in cinemas now so be sure to gather the girls and have a Disney Day! A Sparkling Dream
Well it's hard to believe but the Festive Season is slowly creeping upon us. This became evident when I received a cute little package from Swarovski with pictures of their gorgeous Christmas ornaments and jewellery for 2008. Christams is a wonderful time in my household and with young children amongst the family making the tree look beautiful is something I take great pride in. I absolutely love the snow flake! Although we don't get snow over Christmas like many countries do nothing beats a gorgeous, shiny flake hanging from a full, green branch. Gorgeous ornaments also make great pressies. Sex and the City movie
Since series one of Sex and the City aired in 1998 I have, along with many of my girlfriends, been waiting not so patiently for the inevitable movie. It was 10 years worth the wait because the movie did not disappoint! I was lucky enough to get tickets to one of the first preview screenings on Monday 2nd June and have not been able to stop talking about it since. I don’t want to ruin it for those of you who have yet to see it but if you are after wedding day inspiration look no further than the spectacular shoot Carrie Bradshaw does for American Vogue. Featuring the cream of the crop couture designers Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood, Dior and many others it’s definitely drool worthy. I caught myself crying more than once and not just through the happier bits!

The fashion is amazing, the story line is actually better than I had imagined it would have been and the girls look fantastic. I have to point out that Miranda looked sensational!! The men, on the other hand, haven’t aged as gracefully as I’d hoped, although you can’t help but fall madly in love with Charlotte’s husband Harry. He is the sweetest man ever!!

Myer 3 Weeks in New York launch

Emma and I were so excited to receive our invites for the Myer 3 Weeks in New York launch. A party in the Myer store sounded fantastic but the disco theme was what really excited us. We donned our sparkles and enjoyed the delicious Cosmopolitans and miniature finger food. The Naked Cowboy made a rather ‘naked’ appearance, along with McLeod’s Daughters star Doris Younane and Princess Mary’s bestie Amber Petty.
